I've done the mother of all searches and read a lot of threads to research the major / timing belt service on my 1998 Magna with the 3.0 lite V6 with about 90,000klm on the clock. From what I can tell, these need to be done: Change timing belt Change hydraulic tensioner Change tensioner...

  9. Nulon Radiator Flush & Clean instructions?

My apologies if I sound like a total plank but it's my first Radiator / coolant flush in the Magna 2004 TL ;-) I have a bottle of Nulon Radiator Flush & Clean and it says to add to the radiator and then run the engine for 20 mins before letting cool down and emptying. How do you add the liquid...

  13. Is my alternator dying?

I went out of town for 3 days, and my wife used my car, a 1997 KF Verada automatic 3.5 litre V6. The day before I got back, she took it out in the morning, to a shopping centre only 2km away, then in the afternoon set off again, drove out the driveway, about 100 metres down a slight slope, and the...

  14. ATF Cooler positioning - Is this ok? Pics inside

Hi guys, I had an ATF cooler fitted to my KJ2. I opted for a fairly large unit seeing as I also used a bypass thermostat valve so that if the fluid isn't hot enough it will not go through the external cooler. Either way, this is how the mechanic could fit it, and the bulk of the cooler is...

  17. Fuel trim issue when hot

I've had this problem for a while - car is running very rich on cold start, enough to make it splutter and stall until warmed up. It's not the supercharger as i've run the engine with it detached with the same issue, and it's not the fueling in the tune, as it will startup better for a day or...

  19. 4G64 2.4L TE/TF Owners Section.

Hi all. I decided to start this off as my TE Altera is just about to turn 300. As the majority of 3rd gen Magnas are ballsy six's I thought I would group up a few 2.4L owners and pile some information together, as there is limited people out there currently driving anything 4G64 powered. I figured...

  20. Noisy / chattery wipers. Adjust tension?

A few months ago I replaced with Bosch wipers (not just rubber strips). Immediately you could see them chattering a bit, and after a few days they got quite noisy. I even got them to replace the rubber strips and same thing, immediate chatter and after a few days they go noisy. I've tried putting...
